Its applications include 'send out' vaporization systems for peak shaving plants, temporary gas pipeline supply in the event of emergency or scheduled shutdowns, vessel pressure building etc.

The Natural Gas LNG systems include the model WCVSP dual skid system and the model VFTU fire tube vaporizing system. Both systems require a modest amount of on-site electrical power for pumps (and any forced draft fans required).

The Model WCVSP System: Designed for portable use, the model WCVSP system consists of two skid assemblies. One skid, designed to be positioned beyond the classified class 1, group D, division 2 area, includes a gas fired, natural draft water (or water/glycol) heater with standing pilot, ballast tank and dual circulating water pumps with auto-switching. The second skid assembly, which meets NFPA 59A requirements, is designed to be located relatively close to an LNG storage supply within the classified area and includes a variable frequency drive, a submerged LNG pump, a water heated vaporizer, an odorant injection system (optional), and a startup fuel gas warm-up heater.

Typical delivery pressures range from 50 psig to 450 psig for portable model WCVSP systems. Standard LNG capacities for the WCVSP series units are in the range of 1,200,000 SCFD to 7,200,000 SCFD. Higher capacity portable units can be made available on a special design basis. The specific power required during normal operation is approximately 0.2 kw-hrs. per thousand standard cubic feet.

The VFTU unit is a single 'integral heated vaporizer' module as defined in NFPA 59A. Economics often favors the model VFTU for capacities in excess of 9,500,000 SCFD. This model is frequently a choice for 'send-out' applications, particularly where multiple units are desired to permit operating flexibility. Maximum standard individual unit capacity is 36,000,000 SCFD. ]
